This specialist resin and aggregate surface is a natural choice for large pedestrianised areas, access roads, tree pits and vehicular traffic. It’s slip resistant, durable, porous and low maintenance. Available in a range of natural colours and hybrid recycled systems, our quality resin bound surfaces are Sustainable Drainage System (SuDS) compliant and can be laid on asphalt, flexipath, cementitious and ‘no-dig’ systems.
resin bound surfacing?
Working to current industry guidance, resin bound surfacing involves mixing specially-developed graded kiln-dried aggregate with a UV stable two-part binding resin, so that every stone is fully coated. The mixture is then looted and applied by hand over a suitable sub-base or structurally sound existing surface, such as asphalt or concrete. The resulting surface is smooth, slip-resistant, permeable and durable, making it an ideal choice for clients looking for a sleek and practical alternative to asphalt surfacing. Resin bound surfaces are suitable for many applications, from pathways to access roads, serving all industries from public spaces and heritage sites, to commercial projects to large domestic driveways.

Fully SuDS compliant
Resin bound surfaces are porous and, when installed over a suitable subbase such as open-textured asphalt or no-fines concrete, they allow water to drain naturally into the ground rather than standing on the surface. This means that installing resin bound surfacing will limit the demand on your drainage systems by reducing water run-off. Plus, because of the lack of standing water, SuDS-compliant resin bound surfaces will reduce the risk of accidents caused by slipping or aquaplaning.

resin bound surfacing?
- Smooth, decorative and consistent appearanceAll our resin bound surfaces are installed by hand and, for larger projects, power floated, ensuring a smooth and even finish. The combination of this specialist installation technique, seamless finish and neat edges means that resin bound surfaces appear modern and highly professional, perfect for your business or project.
- Low maintenanceA resin bound surface only needs occasional cleaning and is strong enough to withstand light pressure washing. Plus, because all the aggregate is fixed in place, it won’t migrate elsewhere and need to be topped up or replaced.
- No standing water and slip resistanceWhen installed over a porous base or laid to a fall, a resin bound surface is fully permeable and will allow water to filter through into the ground rather than collecting in puddles on the surface. This reduces water run-off and ensures the surface’s slip resistance meets our high criteria and safety standards.
- DurableResin bound surfaces are highly durable and can maintain their sleek appearance for years with only minimal care. They’re resistant to foot and light vehicle traffic whilst resisting cracking, weeds and damage from frost.
From national landmarks and heritage sites, to iconic public spaces and the UK head offices of global conglomerates, Limegate has safely and reliably installed specialist surfaces within an array of widely recognised locations.
