The perfect solution for driveways in Kent
resin bound driveways from Limegate

As an alternative solution to traditional driveway surfacing methods such as asphalt or block paving, resin bound surfacing provides a driveway that is easy to maintain and looks great. Here at Limegate, we can provide you with a driveway that will be precisely what you are looking for.

Resin bound surfacing is created when washed, dried and graded natural aggregates or recycled materials such as glass, are mixed with a UV-stable binding resin. The resin coats each and every stone to create the resin bound mixture. This mixture is then laid by hand at a depth of between twelve and eighteen millimetres. The material is hand-finished and power floated in order to produce a surface that is solid and reliable yet perfectly smooth. The result is something that is highly practical and adds kerb appeal of your home or business premises.

Ensuring SuDS compliance

Our team can ensure that your project or business is SuDS compliant by carrying out groundworks that will manage the flow of surface water into drainage systems or the ground. This includes completing all the necessary preparations for your new SuDS-compliant resin bound surface, such as excavation and the installation of a suitable sub-base, as well as the installation of soakaways, manholes, and draining channels.

Resin bound driveways have several benefits over traditional surfacing solutions

If you decide to go for a resin bound solution, then you’ll be rewarded by the low-maintenance your new surfacing requires. All you will need is a hosepipe or a stiff broom to remove soil, stones, debris and other contaminants such as animal droppings. Your surfacing will also be suitable for cleaning on a regular basis with floor scrubbers or via pressure washing. It is also resistant to staining via oil and diesel spillages. All the resin bound solutions we provide are backed by a ten-year guarantee. We can supply surfacing in a wide variety of colours and blends – all the way from jet black to pure white and back again. If there is a specific colour that you desire, it’s more or less certain that we will be able to supply it for you. We can also seamlessly incorporate logos, symbols or demarkation lines within your resin bound surface, or even a pattern – the choice is yours. The installation is hassle-free, virtually silent and odourless. You will be able to walk upon your new surface in around four hours, and to drive upon it within eight. Resin bound surfacing is also highly porous, which means it can be used to achieve SuDS (sustainable urban drainage systems) compliance.
